Improving My Lexile

I love to read!!  Mommy says that reading everyday will help my Lexile level.  No.  She really doesn't say that to me nor does she mean it.  At least that's not something she is worried about until I get a little older.  It's just the silly teacher talk coming out of her.  At least once a day, I get to read with either Mommy or Dada.  My favorites this week are: Mama Don't Allow, Baby Farm Animals, Peek-a-boo Farm Animals, and, let us never forget, Mary Engelbreit's Mother Goose.  Mommy brought that book to me this morning, I squealed and started shaking, I was so excited!  I am getting better at "oink" and "ruff" sounds.  And I just LOVE when Dada reads Mama Don't Allow in that funny voice.  It's one of his favorites from when he was a boy so of course I want to be just like him!

But when I am not reading with Mommy or Dada, I read by myself.  And, I know what you are thinking...WHAT A MESS!  But trust me, there is method to my madness.  You see, I pull everything off my bookshelf so I can see them all.  Then I slowly read each one by myself and place them to my left when I'm through.  Or wherever I decide to fling carefully place them.  Mommy says she is proud of me as I am working on "speed reading".
