I really started trying to walk while we were in South Carolina. Practicing requires a few things: 2 firm bodies to help me go between, willingness on my part, and, for better results, NO CLOTHES!! One night I just couldn't stop! Aunt Misty and Dada were helping me and it sure was FUN!!
Since then, I keep trying, but the marble floors scare me just a bit. I really like to stand up and balance on the bed and don't mind practicing on the rugs in the living room. Yesterday, without thinking, I walked ALL BY MYSELF from one couch to the other. Mommy and Daddy were super excited. They tried to get me to do it again, but no. I just crawled. Then a few minutes later, I wasn't thinking again and took a few steps away from the coffee table and out towards the toys. But as soon as I realized what I was doing, I went down and back to crawling.
Then just today, November 13, 2010, I was sitting on the floor reading some books. I pushed myself up with my legs and stood by myself for just a few seconds. IT.WAS.AWESOME!!! Mommy and Dada say that, just like I was with crawling, as soon as I figure all of it out, I will take off!!! After lunch, Mommy and I were singing songs and this Children's Praise song came on. Mommy said it was a good one to remember as I learn to walk! The lyrics in red are the words we thought were best for me to remember right now!
Everything that moves or breathes
Sing a song and praise the Lord
Lay your troubles at his feet
Sing a song and praise the Lord
CHORUS
Oh what a lovely noise
When we raise our voice to sing
I want to thank you Lord
Your the giver of all good things
If I'm rich or if I'm poor
Sing a song and praise the Lord
If I'm shakey or if I'm sure
Sing a song and praise the Lord
Oh what a lovely noise
When we raise our voice to sing
I want to thank you Lord
Your the giver of all good things
If I'm weak or if I'm strong
Sing a song and praise the Lord
If I'm short or if I'm long
Sing a song and praise the Lord
If I'm up or if I'm down
Sing a song and praise the Lord
If I'm square or if I'm round
Sing a song and praise the lord
Repeat Chorus Twice!
